SLPA Welcomes the Newly Appointed Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the UAE

The executive board of the Sri Lankan Professionals Association (SLPA) in the United Arab Emirates, have welcomed the newly appointed Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the UAE, His Excellency Majintha Jayesinghe at the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Abu Dhabi on Friday, 22nd November 2019.

Having exchanged the greetings at the meeting, His Excellency Jayesinghe shared his vision for enhancing the bilateral relationship between Sri Lanka and the UAE which celebrates its 40th anniversary in this year 2019. His Excellency further described his intention for promoting the image of Sri Lanka here in the UAE, and amongst other countries at the upcoming Expo 2020, which is the first World Expo in this region. He looks forward to develop the existing cohesion between the Embassy and Sri Lankans residing in the UAE.

The role of SLPA in the UAE, and the respective functions of the member associations of the SLPA had been shared with His Excellency Jayesinghe. The executive board of SLPA has expressed their willingness to extend the fullest support towards the projects instigated by the Embassy of Sri Lanka in the future.

The Second Secretary of  the Embassy, Ms. Harsha Ruparathne, and on behalf of the SLPA, Mr. Ajantha Premarathna (Chairman), Mr. Lalith Gallage (Secretary), Mr. Deepal Rajaguru (Asst. Secretary), Mr. Lionel Gunathilaka (Asst. Treasurer), Mr. Channa Kasthurirathna (Media Coordinator) and Mr. Kusal Nanayakkara (Editor) have participated in the meeting.
