The Sri Lanka Professionals Association LLC FZ successfully convened for its 7th Annual General Meeting on 7th June 2026 at the Pullman Dubai Creek City Centre Hotel, marking yet another significant milestone in the association’s journey.
The event was graced by distinguished guests, including the Honorable Consul General of Sri Lanka to Dubai & Northern Emirates, Mr. Alexi Gunasekara; Ms. Andrea Pereira, Country Manager representing corporate sponsor Sanji Caldera Associates; and Ms. Gayani Jayawardane, Manager – Sales of SriLankan Airlines. Former Executive Board members also graced the occasion.

Member Association Expansion
In an exciting development, representatives of two prospective member associations attended the AGM as observers — Dr. Madushika and Dr. Arafath from the Doctors’ Association, and Mr. Isuru Liyanaarachchi and Mr. Dulan Weerasinghe from the Lawyers’ Association. Both associations are in the process to formally join under the SLPA umbrella, marking a proud step forward in expanding our professional community.
️ The AGM proceedings featured the Annual Report, Financial Report, updates on key events, and discussions on proposed constitutional amendments and future initiatives. The Honorable Consul General delivered an inspiring address, commending the current ExCom and offering valuable perspectives on the future trajectory of SLPA-UAE.
The event concluded with a delightful networking and fellowship High Tea, featuring exquisite Sri Lankan cuisine curated by Pullman Dubai Creek City Centre Hotel. ️
The successful 7th AGM has laid a strong foundation as SLPA-UAE continues its journey as a unified, dynamic, and forward-looking collection of Sri Lankan professionals in the UAE.
