A notable concern raised by Mr. Ajantha was the limited diversity in the contributions of Sri Lankan professionals within the Middle East, particularly in the medical sector. While acknowledging significant Sri Lankan representation in fields like quantity surveying, hospitality, and banking in the UAE and Gulf regions, he lamented the scarcity of professionals in other sectors, notably healthcare.

Further, Mr. Ajantha highlighted the challenges hindering Sri Lankan professionals’ career advancement, particularly their struggle to ascend to top-tier positions due to insufficient professional development opportunities beyond their initial qualifications. He stressed the urgent need to address these gaps in the education system to unlock new opportunities and bolster the country’s prospects on a global scale.

Mr. Ramesh echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the imperative of revamping the country’s education system to align with current global standards and trends. Both speakers underscored the necessity of adapting to the evolving landscape to ensure Sri Lankan professionals remain competitive and impactful on the international stage.
