History of IQSSL
The inaugural meeting of the Institute of Quantity Surveyors, Sri Lanka (IQSSL) was conducted on 4th July 1983 and it was the foundation which the institute was built upon. IQSSL was incorporated as a limited liability entity under the Sri Lankan Companies Act No.17 of 1092 on 18th April 1986.This led to the institute’s admission in to the professional bodies such as Commonwealth Association of Surveying and Land Economy (CASLE),Pacific Association of Quantity Surveyors(PAQS) and International Cost Engineering Council (ICEC).Furthermore, IQSSL has a reciprocity Agreement with the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (AIQS) which provides concessions to members of both organisations.
Institute of Quantity Surveyors ,Sri Lanka was incorporated by an Act of Parliament of Sri Lanka in year 2007. This Act was named as “Institute of Quantity Surveyors, Sri Lanka Incorporation Act 20 of 2007″; this completed IQSSL’s statutory incorporation as a professional body and confirmed its position as the sole professional body representing the Quantity Surveying professionals in Sri Lanka.

To be recognised as a leading professional body initiating and fostering higher standards of the Quantity Surveying practice globally.
IQSSL Mission
To make the Institute the home and voice of the Sri Lankan Quantity Surveyors and to protect and promote the interests, status, welfare, rights and privileges of the profession while safe guarding the public interests at all times.

Institute of Quantity Surveyors Sri Lanka-UAE Chapter
Institute of Quantity Surveyors Sri Lanka-UAE Chapter was formed mainly to promote and enhance the IQSSL image and membership among Sri Lankan Quantity Surveyors residing in the UAE.
The current Executive committee of IQSSL-UAE Chapter is as follows;
- Chairman – Mr.Dhammika T. Gamage (IQSSL Co-representative for the UAE)
- Secretary – Mr. S.P.A. Keerthirathna (IQSSL Co-representative for the UAE)
- Treasurer –Mr.Channa Kasthuriratna
- Information and Database – Mr. Rohana Abeygunawardana and Mr.Dharmasiri Liyanage
- APC Coordinator – Mr.A.M.Manju Sri Nandana
- CPD Coordinators – Mr.Udaya Samaraweera and Mr.Indralal De Silva
IQSSL UAE Chapter Main Objectives
Keeping in line with IQSSL’s Vision, Mission core values and code of conduct;
- To conduct Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) interviews to promote the corporate membership of IQSSL among eligible candidates.
- To conduct Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities to enhance the knowledge of quantity surveying professionals.
